The club was formed in 2005 and is based at Cardiff High School near Roath Park, Cardiff.
We are fortunate to be able to hire good facilities for indoor and outdoor shooting at the school.
We shoot indoors during the winter months from September to May in the large sports hall and are able to shoot a distance of 25 metres comfortably.
Outdoors from May to mid-July we have the use of the school playing field and are able to shoot at least 70 metres.
The club meets Saturday morning at 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. See Dates Page for more details
We have members of all abilities and ages.
Every Saturday throughout the year we hold a club competition where the members are encouraged to shoot a round of five to six dozen arrows and scores are taken to enable members to obtain a classification and handicap under Archery GB Rules of Shooting. Members are encouraged to participate in local tournaments but we also have members who prefer to just shoot for pleasure in the club.
During the year we hold workshops for the members covering maintenance of equipment and bow tuning.
We welcome beginners and run lessons throughout the year, all equipment is provided and we offer a high standard of instruction from very experienced qualified level 1 coaches.
We are able to offer more advanced coaching to those archers in the club aspiring to Master Bowman and Welsh Team selection.
We have a County Coach with many years of experience of coaching to this standard who was formerly a Grand Master Bowman for some years and a past British International archer.
We also have a level 2 Coach who has worked with archers of Master Bowman standard and has experience in developing personal fitness training programmes for archers who want to progress.
If you want to try archery or have your own equipment and would like to visit us, for further information please contact our Web Master-Andrew Watts via the Contact us form Click Here.
We look forward to meeting you.
